Advanced Certificate In Writing Rhetoric And Language

The Advanced Certificate in Writing, Rhetoric and Language has been especially designed for high school teachers and graduate students in the field of education who want to supplement their knowledge of writing and rhetoric. This four-course, twelve-credit program will prepare teachers for the new emphasis on writing in digital environments and the analysis of informational texts in the New York State Common Core. The program will enable teachers to bring their expertise up to date with the new standards.

The four required courses will provide advanced research skills, training in detailed analysis of literary and non-literary texts, knowledge of contemporary theories of composing and writing, and a comprehensive survey of techniques of analysis and persuasion.

Certificate courses are conveniently scheduled to fit the busy lifestyles of working professionals. Since these courses carry graduate credit, they may be applied to the M.A. in English, the M.S. in Middle Childhood Education: English, or the M.S. in Adolescence Education: English.
