Job Title: Assistant Operations Manager

Job Duties:
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager and Director of Student Financial Services, this position will provide day-to-day technical support and project management assistance within the office of student financial services at University Center and across the six campus and business units of the University. The Assistant Operations Manager will require working knowledge of Information Technology and the University's ERP system to ensure that all student-related financial transactions are properly recorded and managed across the University within Oracle Campus Solutions and Finance applications. Other responsibilities include:
- Assist with the processing of tuition calculation, billing, collections, and cashiering activities across the various campuses and operational units of the University; assist with system configuration, upgrades, and rollovers; assist with the processing of traditional payments, e-payments, and refunding.
- Assist with the management of student accounts receivable within Oracle Campus Solutions; work closely with the Operations Manager to properly configure and maintain financial aid and student financial item types; assist with the posting of payments and charges to student accounts; assist with the delivery of student financial service-related communications.
- Assist with the management of inbound and outbound file transfers relating to student financial service data; work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure wire transfers are properly posted to student accounts.
- Assist with the monthly reconciliation of student activity in Oracle Campus Solutions and Finance applications; compare financial data with external sources, where appropriate, to ensure all Federal, State, and other financial activity is properly recorded, including e-payment processing.
- Assist with the processing of student accounts held with third party servicers, including campus based loans and outstanding tuition balances with external collection agencies; coordinate the processing of 1098T forms with external agencies; assist with the processing of student health insurance, travel insurance, and residence hall charges.
- Assist with the project coordination of new system functionalities and business processes within the Offices of Student Financial Services at University Center and the campuses; ensure issue logs are maintained, timelines are managed, dependencies are documented, operational manuals are created and/or updated, and appropriate sign-offs are obtained.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree and/or five years staff experience required. Strong analytical, organizational, information technology, project management, and communication skills; working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office, Oracle databases, and PeopleSoft environments.
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Job Title: Database Operations Manager

Job Description:
This position manages data input and retrieval from Raiser's Edge, LIU's alumni and donor database. He or she will also identify and implement best practices for the department's biographical and gift entry procedure and handle other administrative functions of a responsible and complex nature. Responsibilities include:
- Under the direction of the University Director of Development Business Operations, research, establish and execute quality control policies and procedures for efficient department functioning and for ensuring the integrity of the University's Raiser's Edge database. Investigate data discrepancies and provide recommendations regarding resolution. Check and edit the work of others, including conducting frequent audits to ensure data are accurate and consistent with University standards as well as in compliance with all state and federal laws. Proactively review information provided to the University Relations staff to ensure the integrity of the data and that policies and procedures are being formalized and followed. Develop standard procedures and policies for collecting and entering information, and communicate processes to appropriate staff.
- Develop and produce both routine and special reports as well as perform information retrievals for University Relations and other University divisions related to data, trends and future planning. Offer suggestions to development team regarding the use of donor data in support of department goals.
- Provide training, orientation and demonstration in Raiser's Edge for both new and current users in order to utilize the database to its full potential.
- Reconcile gift and pledge data in the University's fundraising system to the accounting system. In response to requests by the Finance Department, generate daily, monthly, quarterly and annual comparative reports.
- Formulate recommendations for implementing best practices for the department's biographical and gift entry procedures.
- Expand and maintain department's Raiser's Edge user manual by tracking and implementing improvements in database business practices.
- Process special donations, including trustee gifts, pledges, payroll deductions, recurring gifts, wire transfers and stock gifts.
- Perform other duties as directed by the University Director of Development Business Operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a Business, Accounting or I.T. field. Minimum 3 years of fundraising experience, including knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of the development profession, as well as demonstrated proficiency within a transaction environment; strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, CASE reporting standards and IRS regulations relating to the processing of charitable gifts; excellent oral and written communication skills; superior problem resolution and analytical skills; well organized, detail-oriented and ability to work well under pressure; experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and proficiency with Raiser's Edge.

Qualifications:
Terminal degree in Media Arts, Multimedia or Interactive Telecommunications (Ph.D. or M.F.A. experience preferred) with a minimum of three years of demonstrated teaching practice in addition to strong evidence of scholarly/artistic publication.

Qualifications:
Master's degree essential; earned doctorate much preferred.
