University Public Relations
The Office of University Public Relations is part of the Marketing Services and Public Relations unit that reports into University Relations. The Office develops and implements strategies to sustain positive public awareness of Long Island University, helping to support the institution’s enrollment goals and to build pride and loyalty among its alumni and friends.
The Office manages media relations and promotional initiatives at the University level, drafting press releases and statements, handling crisis management and maintaining the University Experts Guide for journalists. It also is responsible for producing Long Island University Magazine and other official publications, as well as for crafting copy for recruitment material, advertisements, commencement programs, development communications, internal documents and the University’s website. The Office, which provides writing and communication services for the University’s officers, also edits materials produced by other departments to ensure quality and consistency of style across the institution’s communications.
