Speaking, hearing and understanding are basic to human communication. Difficulty in one or more of these areas can interfere with an individual’s ability to communicate and negatively impact a person’s quality of life. At the Downtown Brooklyn Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at LIU Brooklyn, we provide evaluation and treatment for people of all ages with speech-language and/or hearing difficulties. We offer a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to bilingual and monolingual (including Spanish, Russian, Yiddish) children, adolescents and adults with communication disorders.

The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is a vital part LIU Brooklyn’s master's program in Speech-Language Pathology. Our state-of-the-art center employs speech-language pathologists who serve as clinical faculty and supervisors to our graduate interns. Clinical staff are licensed by the NY State Office of the Professions, and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the New York State Department of Education. The graduate program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of ASHA.

If you believe that you, or someone you know, has a speech-language, swallowing, or hearing problem, contact us for an appointment. Our fees for services are affordable and reduced fee schedules are available to qualifying patient CLINIC HOURS
