The Brooklyn Business Academy at Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus will be offering non-credit continuing education courses to our local and very diverse community of lifetime learners. These courses are designed to help "second career" adults update their skills and lean modern best practices essential to any workplace. Have a great idea or intense passion? Learn the first steps (and next steps) to establishing a sustainable small business start-up, from idea to pitch to sustainable small business.

SET Immersive Workshop: Jump-Start Your Business (BBAX 100, $37) Build a successful and sustainable business. Discover what it takes to be a successful business owner. Develop the basic skills you need to ensure your financial, environmental, and social success. This immersive, hands-on workshop will equip students with the fundamentals to be a sustainable entrepreneur. Students will learn: How to determine what is or is not a good idea for a business; How to develop a marketing strategy that works; What to do and not do when building your team; How much money is needed to finance a new business; How sustainability can give an edge at business launch. This workshop is an immersive introduction to the full Sustainable Entrepreneurship Training (SET) / Genesis Course - which takes you from "idea" to the "pitch-ready" stage of your business.

Sustainable Entrepreneurship Training (SET) / Genesis (BBAX 101, $397) Whether you have a live business, or are looking to create one, Sustainable Entrepreneurship Training will give you the tools and techniques to succeed. SET delivers a complete road-map from your 'Business Vision' - through marketing, selling, operations, and team building - to developing the financial plan and raising the capital required for success. All while integrating "sustainable" financial, social, and environmental business practices.
