Cooperative Education and Internships
Cooperative Education (Co-op) at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University enables students to combine academic studies with solid work experience. The Co-op Internship Program provides you with the tools and opportunities you need to select a career, rather than settle for a job. Co-op partners with employers from different companies and organizations in a variety of industries to provide students with professional internship opportunities. This allows you to test out different careers and gain hands-on experience in an actual workplace. Internships and work experience on your résumé will catch future employers’ attention and make you more marketable. In fact, at C.W. Post, your internship placements and the names of the organizations will appear on your transcript for prospective employers to see.
The Co-op Internship Program helps you gain valuable job experience in a field related to your major. Plus, it’s an important step to building a great résumé.
Student Testimonial

"I never thought I'd qualify for an internship as a freshman, but thanks to my LIU Post education and background, the New York Islanders felt I was ready to work for an entire season in the sponsorship department. At my internship I learned first-hand what it's like to work at professional sports team. Thanks to that experience I've gained important practical knowledge working in a business environment and I have become more confident in my career path."
Erika Amandola, B.F.A. in Public Relations, Class of 2013
C.W. Post Co-Op Student of the Year

“C.W. Post’s Cooperative Education program prepared me well for a career in a growing industry. As a student, I gained hands-on learning experience working as an intern at two major accounting firms. This gave me the opportunity to build my résumé and to gain invaluable skills.”
– Laura Arancio, B.S./M.S. in Accountancy, 2009 Graduate of C.W. Post; Associate Real Estate Auditor, Marks, Paneth & Shron
