- A digital library of scholarly resources from and about Africa that serves
the scholarly community by tapping into the unprecedented capacity of the web to
connect those who hold African collections with those who want to use them.
Includes a wide variety of high-quality scholarly materials contributed by Aluka's partners,
ranging from archival documents, periodicals, books, reports, manuscripts, and reference
works, to three-dimensional models, maps, oral histories, plant specimens, photographs,
and slides. Three content areas that are initially being developed are African plants,
struggles for freedom in southern Africa, and African cultural heritage sites &
landscapes.
