Computer Facilities
The Rockland Graduate Campus has two computer
labs equipped with IBM compatible computers. Appropriate software
is available for student and faculty use. The Long Island University
Network spans across six campuses and provides our students
access to additional software, as well as on-line searching
of every database available in the Long Island University Library
system.
The main computer lab is located on the first floor of the
Rockland Graduate Campus main building; the other lab is located
on the second floor. Students should consult the posted schedule
for hours of operation.
Online Bookstore - To purchase textbooks visit our Virtual Bookstore (MBS Direct). MBS is one of the largest online sellers of college textbooks in the U.S. A link can be found online at www.liu.edu/rockland and click on "Buy Books" tab. Or students can access MBS directly at:

If a student doesn’t have Internet access, they can call 1-800-325-3252 to place an order. Textbooks should be purchased at least two weeks prior to the beginning of each semester. Students will have several shipping options to choose from to have their books delivered to their home. MBS Direct also offers many used textbooks to reduce the cost of buying textbooks and also offers to buy back textbooks if students wish to sell them.

Library
The Library at the Rockland Graduate
Campus has the latest book, periodical and media resources
available for student research.It also offers an extensive
collection of database indexes, websites and on-line assistance.
The Rockland Graduate Campus library is designated as a New
York State Document Research Depository; the library houses
in excess of 65,000 state documents. The library provides
the resources to support the academic programs offered, and
is staffed by library and information science professionals
who are delighted to help you navigate the system.
The library is an open stack and comfortably accommodates
more than 100 students. Equipped with interactive computer
terminals, the library allows students immediate access to
LIUCAT, our on-line card catalogue, which includes book collections
of other Long Island University Libraries available to Rockland
Campus students.
Long Island University offers over 300 on-line databases,
many of them full-text. This allows students to print out
articles and reports from the library and lab
computers. These include Lexis-Nexis, Pro Quest, Hoovers,
InfoTrac, and many more. There are also several databases
services that can be accessed from home computers for LIU
students with valid student ID. These include ERIC, ProQuest,
Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe, Infotrac, and Ebsco,.
Other services that the Rockland Graduate Campus Library provides
is the taking of Student Identification Card pictures and
supplying students and faculty with audio-visual equipment
for classroom use. The library is located on the second floor
of the Rockland Graduate Campus building and is open afternoon
and evening hours during the week and most weekends to accommodate
students' busy schedules.
