Description

June Ann Smith is an associate professor in the Department of Counseling and Development at LIU Post. She holds triple licenses as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist and a Clinical Social Worker. Dr. Smith is a National Certified Counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She received the University’s David Newton Award for Teacher of Excellence in 2005 and was awarded lifetime membership in the Madison Who’s Who for Business Professionals n 2010.

Dr. Smith is published in several peer reviewed journals and is the co-author of the book, “Why Good Relationships Go Bad: What to Do About It.” Dr. June Smith is co-host of the series, “Marriage in God’s Hands,” which airs on The Three Angels Broadcast, and “Family 4 Heaven,” which airs on Hope TV. These 13-week series address mental health and social issues confronting children, adolescents, couples and families.

Dr. Smith travels internationally providing workshops and seminars on strategies for effective parenting and marriage and family concerns. She developed the first graduate travel abroad course at Long Island University, a forum through which students are provided the opportunity to complete field-based research and observations on objective culture internationally. Dr. Smith’s current research interests involve the dynamics of terrorism and civil unrest, and cyberspace infidelity.
