Dr. Christensen joined the LIU DPT Program in 2019 bringing with him 10+ years of clinical and academic experience, including expertise in both upper extremity management as a certified hand therapist (CHT 2015) and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) after completing a residency program at Kaiser Permanente in California. Dr. Christensen brings with him a unique skill set in teaching anatomy to healthcare professional students (physical therapy and physician assistant). This enhances his teaching of clinical application as it relates to health promotion and wellness, as well as therapeutic exercise and the management of patients with neurological disorders. He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2005 and continues to be active in the association. His research interests include pain neuroscience education and health promotion and wellness, as well as hand therapy.
