Description

Dr. Chung has been a faculty member at LIU Brooklyn since Fall 2000. At LIU Brooklyn, he has taught Network Management & Security Techniques, Advanced Topics of Database Technologies, Database Management Systems, Service-Oriented Computing, Computer Architecture, Programming Design, Algorithms, Discrete Structures in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Since June 2004, Dr. Chung has been serving as chair of the Campus’ Department of Technology, Innovation and Computer Science.

From 1998-2000, he was a member of the technical staff at Lucent/Bell Labs, working on systems engineering development for Lucent Technologies High Speed Network Management Systems for SONET and SDH. From 1997-1998, Dr. Chung worked with AT&T for software, developing a service network management system to support AT&T WAN SONET Services. Previously, he worked with Telecommunications Labs (TL) for a broadband ISDN development project in Taiwan, R.O.C.

His research interests are network management, combinatorics and computing, and databases. Dr. Chung has published several papers in the areas of network analysis, applied combinatorics, algorithms, databases, intelligent systems and web services, which have been featured in international journals and at conferences around the world. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, Upsilon Pi Epsilon (Honor Society of Computer Science) and Tau Beta Pi (Honor Society of Engineering), and is listed in the Marquis' Who's Who in the World. He also has served as program committee member of several international conferences.
