Dr. Collins has written, directed and performed for stage and television, and has presented and published scholarly papers in the areas of communication studies, teaching/learning pedagogy, dramaturgy, and gender communication. She specializes in nonaristotelian/postmodern precepts and theories applicable to the creative process as generative order. Currently she’s writing a nonaristotelian interpretation of Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize winning plays.

Dr. Collins has taught a wide variety of performance and communication courses at Columbia U., New York U., Pace U., Borough of Manhattan Community College, and Fairleigh Dickinson U. among others. She teaches the following courses at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus: Theatre as Social Ritual (Honors), Political Rhetoric (Honors), SPE 201—Creative Problem Solving, SPE 3— Oral Communication 3 (core requirement), and Core [Writing] Seminar (core requirement).
