Description
I joined the SON after teaching in Hawaii for 11 years. I am a community-based Clinical Nurse Specialist with a focus on maternal child health and perinatal hospice. I have taught at all undergraduate levels - Introduction to Nursing, Pharmacology, Dosage Calculation, Maternal-Child, Community Health, Leadership, Evidence-Based Practice, and Research. My scholarship and research is based in nursing education; recruiting and retaining nursing faculty, inclusion of students with physical disabilities, educating students from diverse populations, clinical occupational health preparation, and utilizing evidence-based practice. Mentoring future nurse researchers and evidence-based practice nursing team members is a particular scholarly interest.
Specialties
