Description
Dr. Vergara is an ANCC, board-certified nurse practitioner with extensive experience as a Registered Nurse. Most of the clinical experience includes extensive critical care knowledge on assessment, diagnosis planning, intervention, and critically ill patients' evaluation. She is proficient in all technical aspects of critical care and care coordination of these populations. As a Doctor in Nursing practice, her expertise is taking care of patients with cardiac conditions, focusing on implanted cardiac device programming, management, and the prevention of device complications. Her current research and quality improvement program focused on utilizing and interpreting data from the cardiac devices to detect early heart failure exacerbation and prevent hospitalizations. She has years of teaching experience as an Adjunct Assistant Professor's held position at private and public institutions. She is dedicated to the profession and to increase diversity in health care. Her voluntary work includes mentoring students from different backgrounds, mostly from Hispanic heritage.
