Description

Charles Conover is the director of the Digital Arts and Design Program. His professional design experience includes 12 years working in publication design, ten of which were spent as an art director for PC Magazine with Ziff-Davis Publishers. During that time, he received awards for his technical illustration and layout design from AIGA and Print Magazine. Before coming to C.W. Post, Conover spent six years as an adjunct professor teaching animation and computer-based paint programs at Pratt Manhattan. His graduate work at New York University focused on American history and silkscreening techniques, where he researched the social effects of industrialization and created a body of prints that addressed that material. Conover continues to design professionally on a freelance basis. He has exhibited his paintings and prints at numerous galleries throughout the tri-state area. He is the author of “Designing For Print,” published by John Wiley & Sons, a textbook geared for young professionals and college students which covers imaging techniques, technical illustration and page layout.
