Description

David S. Jalajas is an associate professor of management at the College of Management at Long Island University. Dr. Jalajas’s primary research interests are in decision making, human resource management, counterproductive work behavior, innovation, and networking. He has published articles in such journals as the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of High Technology Management Research, International Journal of Technology Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, R&D Management, Human Resource Development Quarterly, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Organization Development Journal, Journal of Management Education, and Technology Studies. Dr. Jalajas’s teaching areas are in Organizational Behavior, Strategic Human Resources, Operations Management, and Decision Analysis. Dr. Jalajas also teaches in the doctoral program in the School of Education. Dr. Jalajas has served as Acting Chair in the management department numerous times while at LIU Post, and has chaired several committees for the College of Management. He has also participated for many years in the SCALE program with local high schools. In 2009 Dr. Jalajas was selected as Professor of the Year by Beta Gamma Sigma (the business school honor society). In 2008 Dr. Jalajas won the Professional Experience and Career Planning office’s Faculty Member of the Year Award. In 2005 and 2006 Dr. Jalajas led the LIU team working with Commerce Bank on the summer program, Camp Business, for outstanding local high school students. Since 2004 Dr. Jalajas’s MBA classes in Organizational Behavior have raised over $50,000 and contributed hundreds of hours of service for local charitable organizations. Dr. Jalajas enjoys kayaking with his family on Long Island, running marathons, and woodworking. In 2002 Dr. Jalajas completed an Ironman triathlon. Dr. Jalajas, and his wife, Claudine, have three children, Luc, Max, and Annabelle, who range in age from 14 to 6.
