Description

Dr. Louisa Kramer Vida currently chairs multiple dissertations in the areas of literacy, social justice, teaching ELLs, assessment, and special education. She is also a member of multiple doctoral committees.

Previously, Dr. Kramer Vida taught doctoral interdisciplinary classes and graduate and undergraduate literacy classes at both LIUPost and Dowling College, and taught summer literacy institutes for Molloy College.

Dr. Kramer Vida currently has a book chapter on the Black NYC DOE experience under review and has published 18 peer reviewed and 22 non-peer reviewed articles.  

Dr. Kramer-Vida has also authored numerous accreditation documents and is currently co-PI of an NSF grant to train math majors to teach in disadvantaged schools.

As a public school teacher and administrator for 34 years on Long Island and in NYC, Dr. Kramer Vida authored 27 curriculum guides, a math workbook, 12 National Geographic educational kits and an 8 part National Geographic media series.

Dr. Kramer Vida has also consulted for the New York State Education Department, Pearson, Sadlier-Oxford, the People’s Education Company, National Geographic, various Long Island BOCES, and multiple Long Island School Districts.

Dr. Kramer Vida has served on advisory boards for Molloy College and Briarcliff College.

Additionally, Dr. Kramer Vida has chaired or had a major administrative role in multiple national, state, and local conferences, related to her role  on the Boards of NYSEC and LILAC. She has also presented over 110 times on the international, national, regional, state, and local levels.

Lectures and Presentations

Over 110 presentations, often as the sole or lead presenter, at such conferences as those of the International Literacy Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, the National Association for Continuing Higher Education, the Global Education Expo of the Institute for Global Education Diplomacy (sponsored by the Association for Childhood International), NERA, state and local organizations, and in school districts.
