Description
Professor Tambor specializes in 20th century European history and the history of women and gender. She is currently the chair of the Columbia University Seminar in Modern Italian Studies and has also been Visiting Professor in Global Governance at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She is the author of The Lost Wave: Women and Democracy in Italy (Oxford, 2014) and translator of Gian Giacomo Migone, The United States and Fascism in Italy. The Rise of American Finance in Europe (Gli Stati Uniti e il fascismo. Alle origini dell’egemonia americana in Italia) (Cambridge, 2015). Her current research project is on women in policing; her article entitled “The Origins of the Polizia femminile” was published in a special issue of the Journal of Modern Italian Studies in early 2022.
